When specifying data size (e.g. key size) what units can be used?

Instead of entering file size in bytes, you can shorten the expression using an unit.

For example: 4 TiB instead of 4398046511104.

The units used for file size are:

  • 1 (No unit) = 1 Byte
  • 1 KB = 103 =  1000 Bytes
  • 1 MB = 106 = 1000 000 Bytes
  • 1 GB = 109 = 1000 000 000 Bytes
  • 1 TB = 1012 = 1000 000 000 000 Bytes
  • 1 KiB = 210 = 1024 Bytes
  • 1 MiB = 220 = 1024 * 1024 Bytes = 1048576 Bytes
  • 1 GiB = 230 = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 Bytes = 1073741824 Bytes
  • 1 TiB = 240 = 1024 * 1024 * 1024 * 1024 Bytes = 1099511627776 Bytes
